Brittany has tailored her pageant platform around her commitment to the Starlight MidAltantic Children’s Foundation and her role as the organization’s Teen Ambassador.
Patients in the pediatrics department at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, Maryland have a new motivation to get out of bed – a Wii Fun Center. The popular game system, which is valued at more than $4,200, was donated by Starlight Children’s Foundation MidAtlantic on behalf of Brittany’s fundraising efforts. A Fun Center is a mobile entertainment unit that contains a flat-screen television, DVD player and Nintendo Wii system with 22 programmed games. The systems are used in hospitals to help children cope with the common fears of hospitalization by providing a fun activity.
About the America’s Miss system
The America’s Miss System is for females between the ages of 13 and 60. It consists of three divisions, Teen, Miss, and Mrs. America’s Miss strongly promotes community involvement and encourages contestants to make personal appearances and help to promote social causes. A great personal achievement of Brittany’s was partnering the Starlight Children’s Foundation and America’s Miss. Because of her work, the national Teen, Miss and Mrs. winners will now become ambassadors for the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
