How You Can Make a Difference In the World and Make Your Mark

If it were not for volunteers, many organizations could not accomplish and maintain their good works because with increasing costs and decreasing budgets, their resources are stretched to the limit and they need people who are prepared to volunteer in order to make it work. Volunteers are the lifeblood of the planet.  You can volunteer in your community, your city, your state, your country, or in an overseas country.

Depending on what type of organization you volunteer for, your efforts can benefit children, adults, animals and the environment in any part of the world.  Volunteering is a special gift of pure unselfishness and love, but it isn’t all one sided.  There are myriad benefits for the volunteer.  It’s not about working for free! Volunteers may work for free but they are not free labour – depending on where you are you will need to be fed and housed and trained!  All it is going to cost you is your time, and this is not a waste of time! Volunteering enriches your life.  It’s a win-win.

You can volunteer as much of your time as you desire.  You can live in a village overseas volunteering 100% of your time.  You can spend some or all of your weekends with an environmental organization caring for aspects of the environment. You can volunteer one day a week to visit the elderly and maybe offer to run errands for them. You can volunteer once a month to offer your services to any organization.

You will find that most, if not all, organizations will welcome you whether you can volunteer 1 hour, 1 day or 1 year to help them, and they will be grateful.  Contact some volunteer organizations that interest you to find out what your options are.

Good luck, and on behalf of the planet, Thank you!
